Our Family Business
Classic Plating, Inc. started in 1985 by our founders, Dick Morgan and eldest son Ken Morgan. They began their operation in 1000 sq. ft. industrial garage, trusting that they could provide a needed service.
Then, in 1987, Classic moved to a larger facility in Westland, MI and was able to expand their services. Customers began recognizing Classic’s performance as something special. For over 30 years referrals have continued to drive our growth.
We made two more moves to larger facilities. Our Co-owners, brothers Steve and Mike Morgan have been platers since the late 1980’s when they learned their craft alongside their father/founder, Dick Morgan . Dick, retired from a career as a research chemist/plater/inventor with many surface treatment patents to his credit (pictured behind our management team, above).
These skills have translated into a successful plating business where Steve and Mike are trusted resources and advisors for many of our client companies. Alongside Steve and Mike in managing Classic Plating, Inc. is Sue Barbret (their sister), President since 1993, and Mike’s wife Heather who manages the shipping and receiving department.
